My five-year-old granddaughter watched a cartoon about Indians and really liked the hero. I decided to make her present and sewed an Indian doll. She was delighted. Now this is her favorite doll.

transfer patterns to fabric

It sews easily. To do this, transfer the patterns onto fabric, enlarging them to the desired size. I made it from fleece, but the little doll looks like a Bigfoot child, it’s very unusual. Therefore, I recommend making a doll from linen or cotton.

Sew the pieces and turn them inside out

Sew the pieces and turn them inside out. First sew the front part of the head, the three back parts of the head, and then the whole thing. Make small cuts in the arms and legs for stuffing, which you will sew up after filling. In the body, leave the upper part unstitched.

Stuff the body parts tightly

Stuff the Indian's head tightly into the hole left at the bottom. The remaining parts do not need to be filled tightly if you are sewing from fleece. The material holds its shape well even with a small amount of holofiber.

shape your fingers

Use the tightening method to form the fingers and toes. But even if you don’t know how to do this, the boy will not get worse from it. Many craftswomen do not make weights, and the doll does not lose at all because of this.

Sew arms and legs

Sew the arms and legs to the body and begin shaping the head.

Make a nose and mouth

For convenience, insert two safety pins along the side seams exactly in the middle. You can pull a thread along them to determine where to sew on the button eyes. First embroider the eyelashes, then sew on the eyes. Make a nose and mouth.

side view

This is a side view; we need to sew the ears in place of the pins.

start shaping the ears

Now it's time to start shaping the ears. Cut out 2 small circles.

Gather the thread in a circle and tighten it. Secure the resulting ears in place with pins.

This is the kind of boy you should get.

sew the head to the body

We take the torso and

sew the head to it. It can be placed on a tube so that it holds tightly. But my granddaughter really likes the fact that she dangles and nods easily. And if it ever comes off, it won’t be too difficult to sew it back on.

sew on the hairs

Now we sew on the hair, I would say just a bun. This is done like this: we wrap a little thread around three fingers, remove it, tighten it in the middle and sew it onto the crown. Then we straighten it in different directions, you can cut it.

sew on the hairs

We paint the cheeks with powder or colored pencil, after making pollen from a graphite rod.

In general, the boy is ready,

but we are making an Indian! It's no good for him to play with toys!

making an Indian

We knit a loincloth from multi-colored grass-type yarn.

making an Indian

We break the threads and sew. The bandage is ready.

making an Indian

We put it on the doll, give it a spear and an amulet around the neck. The amulet is made like this: we put a lucky coin on a thread, hang colored threads and cut them evenly. The spear consists of a shaft (kebab stick) and a bunch of the same colored threads. Now we wind the yarn on two fingers, wrap the end of the bundle with thread and glue it. We also coat the shaft with glue and insert it inside the wound end.

making an Indian

This is our Indian on vacation.

And he came from hunting and was surrounded by trophies. It doesn’t take long to make such an Indian, the toy is pleasant to the touch, the arms and legs are soft and can be adjusted to any position. My granddaughter plays with pleasure and runs around, hooting. Give joy to your child too!
