Handmade toys are becoming more and more in demand, as they are made from environmentally friendly items and are absolutely unique in their design, since the hand of each master is individual, and therefore the toy is exclusive. For example, even if we take an animal whose year will come to us next year, it will be the year 2015, the year of the Goat and Sheep according to the eastern calendar. We, of course, begin preparations for the winter New Year and Christmas holidays in advance and begin to choose in advance present close people. Basically, it is customary for the New Year to give all sorts of trinkets with the animal whose year we are expecting. In our case, gifts in the form of figurines, piggy banks, candles, balls with a sheep and a goat are suitable. This is a must have for the 2015 meeting. This master class will help us sew a soft and fluffy sheep from felt, which can be given to both a child and an adult as a Christmas tree toy.

To sew a sheep we need the following:
• Felt in light pink, hot pink, beige and brown colors;
• A pair of small eyes for toys;
• Narrow satin ribbon made of red satin with white polka dots;
• Small golden bell;
• Synthetic fluff approximately 5-6 grams;
• Brown threads;
• Black small beads;
• Shiny half beads;
• Lighter, pen, scissors;
• Sheet for drawing a template;
• White thread and needle;
• Glue gun.

To begin with, the first step, of course, is to draw a template-sketch of our sheep, according to which we will cut out the pattern of the sheep. The pattern can be copied from a ready-made photograph (it is the size of a sheep half the size of your palm), the second option is that you can find a ready-made pattern on the Internet, but again, it all depends on the desired size of the animal. In our case, the sheep is small, about half the size of a palm, so the pattern can be copied, printed and cut out. We cut out one example at a time, and then measure out the required number of blanks on the sheets.

We cut out two copies of the body, crest and large cheeks from light pink felt. From bright pink felt we cut out two sketches of small ears and small cheeks. We cut out four legs from brown felt, and two circles for the face and two tail figures from beige felt.

We take two circles, put them together, take a white thread with a needle and sew these two circles with a slip stitch in a circle, approximately when 2/3 has been sewn, we begin to insert synthetic fleece in bunches inside. Sew up the circle with filler completely.

We do the same with the rest of the parts, fill and sew the body, tail, legs. Don’t be afraid if the elements of the sheep are figured; everything is sewn together perfectly using a cast stitch. We place the ears on top of each other, fold them at the bottom and fasten them with thread, level them and get a full-fledged sheep’s ear.

Now we use brown threads to make a loop around the mouth and nose, and glue a sulfur bead at the top of the nose. We glue the eyes to the face with a gun. We make a loop and a bow from the ribbon, and sew a bell to the bow.We collect all the parts to make a sheep and glue them together using a gun. It turns out a cute, soft and gentle handmade sheep. Thank you and thank you all!
