Dolls from textiles conquered the world - needlewomen do not doubt this, with love and without rest, they sew their Bighearts. This type of textile interior dolls is also called Snow Girls - very often they are dressed in winter outfits made of fur, ethnic sweaters and hats with large fur pompons. These pupae can have different height - from 25 cm and above, but they all have the same proportions: a large head and large legs, small eyes in the center of a round face. Be sure the doll is decorated with different buttons and flowers, wears shoes, socks or knee-high socks, a hat or headband.
We will begin to sew our wonderful Big-legged.
We will need a piece of flesh-colored cotton fabric for sewing the body and any fabric for sewing clothes.
Our set of materials and tools is as follows:
- Patterns Bigfoots downloaded from the Internet and a pen to circle them on the fabric;
- flesh-colored fabric (calico, you need to fold it in half, as the details are stitched so that they can be turned out and stuffed with synthetic winterizer);
- fabric mesh for dresses;
- headband and artificial flower;
- doll socks and anklets purchased in a children's store;
- artificial tresses (you can make hair out of mohair);
- braid for dress design;
- a sewing machine (you can sew on your hands), scissors and threads in the color of the fabric, needles;
- black beads for the eyes (you can embroider the eyes with black threads).
We fold the body tissue in half and apply the patterns, draw them directly along the contour, the soles of the feet (two) and the patterns for the head (there are three of them), circle them on a single fabric.
We sew every detail, except for the head parts, leaving one and a half centimeters free for further stuffing (we don’t stitch the feet on the feet, so we will connect it with the “soles”), cut out the parts with five millimeters allowance for the seams, sheathe the edges so as not to become split.
We grind the back parts of the head vertically, then we grind the resulting part in a circle with a large part of the head, also leaving room for stuffing.
We turn the parts to the front side and stuff with padding polyester. Manually sew the slots for stuffing, insert the legs into the body, and only then sew the slots. Sew feet to the feet, stuff feet. We sew the parts together, the doll is almost ready. You can sew bead eyes and attach hair to the head to imagine what kind of beauty she will soon become.
We begin to sew tresses around the forehead, leading the tresses back and spiraling up two centimeters above the first line.
Well, the hair is ready and the doll even got shoes.
Now we will decorate the hairstyle: we sew a bandage at the top in a circle (from the inside), pull the thread, twist and sew a flower on it. We fix the bandage on the head, stitching around the circumference.
We make the simplest dress - we fold the fabric in half, sew along the edge, we get a “bag” that we put on the doll and collect in the neck area, decorating it with a ribbon here and around the waist. The doll is ready! Isn’t it, cutie? And most importantly, made by yourself.
