Can you get a diode from a junk merchant separately? It's just a pity to spoil a good drive from a computer, and new ones cost 1000 rubles a little expensive for such trinkets ...

And as I understand it, you need to sing a diode + - instead of a flashlight bulb? : winked:

The diode CANNOT be stuck stupidly instead of a bulb - it will burn and quickly. A “driver” is necessary (for example, the simplest circuit on a single transistor or at least a resistor connected at least in series with a laser diode). In cd / dvd combi devices there are 2 diodes separately for cd and dvd, both of which can be used for these purposes. You also need a lens to focus the beam, otherwise it will turn out just a "flashlight"

the article is "empty", but I suspect that it does not contain the main thing - not every diode needs to be taken apart from the driver - it won’t go from the CD, only from the DVD, and there are also tricks when unsoldering.
And in general - even with a reflected beam you can forever spoil your vision. So I do not recommend it without specials. safety glasses (designed for the correct wavelength ...
