Crocheting a basket is pretty simple. Even a child can handle this. But if you knit from ordinary threads, then the basket will turn out to be excessively soft, and will not keep its shape. Have to starch, then dry. You can avoid unnecessary hassle if, instead of yarn, you use ribbons cut from plastic bags. In each house there are many used packaging bags. Here we put them into action.
Soft plastic bags of any color, including transparent ones, are suitable. It can be bags with T-shirts with handles, or regular bags for breakfast. A basket made of polyethylene holds its shape perfectly and, if necessary, is easy to clean.
First you need to prepare the material from which we will knit a basket. We take a plastic bag, fold it and cut the strips one by one. about one centimeter wide. Each strip will be closed in a ring. We take two rings, insert one into the other, as shown in the photo: the right one will be slipped under the left one. We fold the ring on the right in half and stretch its lower part to the upper. Gently tighten the knot. Do not tighten the tape strongly, otherwise the polyethylene may break. It is important to ensure that the nodule is exactly in the middle.
Similarly, we connect all the rings. To make it convenient to knit in the future, we reel the resulting “thread” into a ball.
For knitting it is better to use a thick hook. Size No. 7 will do. Knitting takes no more than an hour.
First you need to weave a chain of eight air loops, then connect its edges to each other. To go to the second row, you need to dial two air loops, and then knit twenty-three columns with a crochet.
In the next row, we will add one air loop after each double crochet. Knitting should be flat because it will be the bottom of the basket.
Then we knit in the same way, alternating a double crochet and an air loop, but without adding. Knitting should "grow" from the bottom up. It is necessary to knit three rows. Such a mesh pattern will make the basket openwork. To make the basket more stable, you can put a circle cut out of cardboard on the bottom.
For the handle we knit a braid of sixteen air loops, which, for strength, we bind with ordinary columns.
A basket tied from plastic bags can be a great base for an Easter composition. You can put, for example, colored eggs and sweets in it. Or decorate with flowers.
It can also be used as a packaging for a sweet gift. A self-made candy holder will be a great gift for March 8: original and not expensive.
