An original and soulful bookmark

Everyone who loves to read books loves unusual and beautiful bookmarks. When you know how to knit, creating a beautiful and original bookmark is a simple and enjoyable task. Today I will show you how to quickly create a beautiful bookmark - a flower from a small amount of thread. To create this flower, even small skeins that you have left over from previous products will be enough; often such skeins accumulate and there is almost no use for them. So this master class will allow you to solve two problems at once - it will save you from accumulated skeins and allow you to make an unusual bookmark for your favorite book.

What you may need for work:

• Yarn in two colors - green for the stem of the flower and any color you like for the petals, mine is white.

Start knitting as you feel most comfortable; for this flower, both an Amigurumi loop of six single crochets and a chain of six air loops connected in a circle are ideal. The second row is tied around the six lower columns, knitting two in each lower column, and we form twelve new ones.The third row should consist of eighteen double crochets, that is, we knit one stitch and knit the next two into one stitch of the bottom row and so on until the end. The fourth row will be of twenty-four stitches, we knit two stitches into one bottom row after two. You should end up with a circle like this.



We begin to knit the petals. In the three lower columns we knit five double crochets. They are shown under the hook, I start knitting a new petal there, two two-leaf petals are already ready.



We unfold the knitting and on these five stitches we knit six new double crochets. We unroll the knitting again and tie the posts. We knit the first three columns without a crochet, the fourth with a half crochet and the last two with a double crochet. It turns out to be such a pointed half-petal.



We tie the last column on the side with regular single crochets, reach the first row of the petal and begin to knit the second part of the petal. We also knit the remaining two-leaf petals.



You should end up with a flower like this with four double-leaf petals.



We thread a green thread into the hole that was formed at the beginning of knitting.



We knit a green ball, connect it to the flower and begin to knit a chain of air loops on the other side of the flower.



We knit about twenty chain stitches and begin to form leaves. We knit several chain stitches and tie them with single crochets and double crochets in the middle to make a leaf shape. So we knit two leaves or one, as you want, and then make a chain of air loops to the required size of the bookmark. We hide the end of the thread in air loops.
