Nature gave the parrots great curiosity and interest in everything new that appears in their cages. So that your feathered pet doesn’t look for activities on its own, direct his talents to the desired direction, namely, if the bird likes to climb up, make a ladder out of the rope for it, if you often look in the mirror, attach a bell on it with a long pendant, etc. . With the help of such minor changes, it will become more interesting for a parrot to live in his house.
1. In order to update and embellish the swing of a parrot, large beads and a bell are not required.
In my case, 50 bright beads took a swing. It is necessary to disconnect the metal case from the wooden surface and string multi-colored beads on it.
So that while riding on a swing, the parrot could not only ride, but also play, do not string large beads too tightly.
Give the feathered bird the opportunity to touch the beads with its beak. Then reattach the wooden surface to the arch and attach the bell.
2. Now we begin to manufacture the second toy. To create it, you will need a multi-colored rope of hard fibers or a rope with a diameter of 5 - 7 mm, a length of 40 cm and a plastic tip from any children's toy, its size should be slightly larger than the size of the cable.
Accordingly, the larger your bird, the larger the diameter of the proposed rope should be, so that it is convenient for the parrot to clutch the cable with its claws. Do not buy a rope that is made of cotton. Since this natural material in a disheveled form turns into small flakes that can get stuck in the stomach of a bird. This can lead to a blockage of the gastrointestinal tract or death of your pet.
Then we pass the plastic tip into the rope and securely fasten it on both sides of the cage.
On this rope, the parrot can not only sit, but also move the plastic toy in different directions with its paws and beak.
A similar accessory is used to create a bird play area. Believe me, such a fun made from ordinary materials at hand will appeal to your parrot.
If you have the opportunity, buy a folding rope for your bird. With its help, a bird can make all kinds of variations of a circular swing, bent ladders, rectangular arches, etc.
3. In the cage of my Karelian on the pole for a year hung an ordinary classic mirror. At first, the bird looked into him often, but then quickly enough lost all interest in him. I decided to update her mirror, for this I needed a chain of old beads 6 cm long and a small bell.
Now the bird with great pleasure spends time near the mirror, pulling the chain with a bell.
4. And finally, we’ll make the bird an interesting toy - a pendant. To make it, you will need 2–3 meters of woolen thread, a bell, scissors, a plastic circle (in my case it is a “burner” from a children's stove) and details for decoration: a small ball, beads of various diameters and decorative buttons.
From the threads we create a fluffy tourniquet and tie it in the middle.
We tie a woolen thread to the tourniquet, stretch a small ball through it and tie the thread to the knot.
Then, in a chaotic manner, we put beads and buttons on the thread.
Now we tie our blank to the plastic circle and fasten the bell to the top.
Thus, the bird will have a musical toy. The bell can be replaced with another part.
