Recently, I decided to make an applique for clothes. In fact, painting on fabric is simpler and somehow faster, but if the plan was not successful, the thing can be thrown away. So I decided to tell you how to make an owl application.

You will need:
1.gold and red contour for fabric or welded with wax candles (church), white spirit and gold paint (hardware store).
2. thin gold threads (as for embroidery) or fabric glue (shop for goods for creativity)
3. dyes on fabric or gouache + acrylic 1: 1.
4. a small piece of artificial satin, white.

So, let's take and transfer from the monitor screen to a sheet a sketch of an owl. It is possible to print, but it is better to redraw the main contours of the bird.

Next, take a piece of satin, put a picture under it and draw the main lines with a pencil.
We draw a contour for the fabric along the drawn lines. I had a red outline. Then I decided to apply the darkest parts of the drawing, although usually, according to the rules of drawing, it is recommended to apply lighter tones first. That's what happened

Next, you need to paint over the bird. That's what happened

Now the Owl drawing needs to be decorated with a gold outline. After that, the bird should be cut out of fabric with allowance for flashing and sprinkling somewhere 2-3mm.

Now the most crucial moment is the float. Just as the petals do for artificial flowers, we will fuse the edges of the applique. More accurately - away from the fire, we need to melt a little fabric so that it does not crumble, and not burn the house!

Then gold threads are used. We fill it with a sewing machine, set the average zig-zag, the density of the fabric is 0, the length of the stitch is 0.5 and we adjust it along the melted contours. You can even pin it with pins so that when tuning the applique does not “move” to the side.
