Making a diaper cake is not at all difficult. In addition, its price is quite suitable for any wallet. What do we need to create a cake?
1. Diapers. For a two-tier cake you need about 30-40 pieces. It is advisable to buy not the smallest size (for example, from 7 kg and above), since often present It touches parents so much that they are in no hurry to disassemble it right away.
2. Sterile disposable diaper, gloves. Diapers for a baby are an item of personal hygiene, so maintaining cleanliness and sterility when creating a cake from them is an indispensable condition. All elements of the gift (fastenings, decor) it is also advisable to wipe with an antiseptic solution or iron with an iron so that nothing threatens the baby’s delicate skin.
3. Fastenings. The choice of mounts is huge. Strings, tape, safety pins, rubber bands for money, glue.But, nevertheless, it is recommended to place special emphasis on safety and naturalness - after all, a gift for the baby. That's why we use only fabric or paper ropes, satin ribbons and sewing threads. With them, the creation process will be a little longer, but the quality of our confectionery miracle will be at its best.
4. Material for the vertical base. Suitable here: a tall bottle of any children's cosmetics, a bottle, a cardboard roller from paper towels, wooden skewers, a bottle of champagne, finally. We personally have doubts about the latter: alcohol just doesn’t fit in with the image of a tender children’s gift. But, the choice is yours.
5. Satin ribbons of different widths, threads, needles, decorative paper napkins or fabric. The color scheme is left entirely to your taste. You know better in what style and color to make a cake to arouse the admiration of your family.
6. Decorative elements. Cute plush toys, fabric flowers, beads, beads, baby paraphernalia: combs, teethers, socks, booties, diapers, pacifiers. Believe me, mom will be happy with every detail of the gift - everything will come in handy in the life of an infant.
7. Stand. The tray can be a beautifully pasted sheet of cardboard, the bottom of a box from a real cake. In our case, the stand is also a useful gift - a children's book.
So, let's begin.
Open the package of diapers (20 pcs.) on a sterile napkin. There is no need to separate them, just lay them out as shown in the photo.
Slightly bending, we evenly shape it around the base - the bottle, and tie it with a rope.
We form a second similar tier (16 pcs.) You can put an openwork napkin between the tiers.
The cake is baked.
Next, we place satin ribbons on top of the ropes in the order you like (thin - on wide, both - side by side). We secure them with threads (photo 6) or glue (of course, without touching the diapers). Now it's time to decorate. We make cute bows and sew them a little to the right of the seam on the ribbon to hide it behind the bend of the bow. A small teddy bear will complete the picture.
