In this short article I will tell you how to make a simple chemical effect of the “pharaoh snake”.
To do this, we need the following ingredients:
-calcium gluconate
- dry combustible
No need to run to the chemical store as everything can be obtained in ordinary household stores-calcium gluconate (at the pharmacy), and dry fuel (at tourist or fishing and hunting stores).
First of all, on the prepared surface (which can be a normal tin can) we put a tablet of dry fuel, and on top we put a few tablets of calcium gluconate, now we set fire to dry fuel, we observe an interesting effect.
During the reaction, almost no smoke or foreign smell is emitted, but it is still better to conduct the experiment in a ventilated room. The reaction lasts quite a while, depending on the number of tablets of calcium gluconate.
