How to make your mouse vibrate with your own hands

Introduction

Once I came to visit a friend with my computer. We created a network, played, and got a little tired of computers. We decided to relax and have fun. He is a radio electronics engineer, a TV technician, in general he can repair anything, a man with hands but no ideas. On the contrary, I am a person with ideas but without brains, but with hands. He started soldering something as always and upgrading his super sophisticated system unit. And I, not knowing what to do, climbed into his junk drawer and started digging around, and found an ordinary Chinese motor there. And then it struck me that I shouldn’t insert it into the mouse. By the way, instead of a motor, you can use a vibrator from an old mobile phone. It’s just that before the computer I had a Sony console, and it had joysticks with a vibration function, it was very fun to play. And then we played Far Cry. So I thought that it wouldn’t be bad when, during shooting, at the moment the button is pressed, the mouse would shake as if there was recoil.
Where did I start

Opened the Logitech mouse. This is a simple, most common optical wired mouse.
I looked carefully at what was inside, microcircuits, parts, some buttons... Boredom.
I soldered two wires. The first is +5 volt power, as it turned out later. This is the middle wire of the five that come from the block, it is red. The second wire was soldered to the left key button. The photo shows that this is the left contact of the button. The red wire is my wire that goes to the motor. It is indicated by a red arrow.

Next... I check if such a simple scheme works. I solder a diode instead of the light motor and press the button. Hooray! The diode lights up when the button is pressed.

This means that the motor will also work. For preliminary success, we drink beer and I continue. The diode has dropped out. And he set about installing the motor in the floor of the empty mouse compartment. I decided to mount the motor on special glue. This glue sets quickly when its temperature drops. That is, it requires a special gun or soldering iron. I heat up the glue and apply it to the microcircuit, and while it spreads and while it’s hot, I mount the motor. The glue sets, after which I start pouring glue into all the places I can. This is to prevent the motor from being torn off while it is running. So, the motor is in place. I begin to make weights that, when placed on the axis of the engine, will create vibration during rotation with an offset from the axis.
Everything is very simple. I took the small metal cylinder from the pen. Diameter 7 mm and length 7 mm. I took 3 lead bullets from an air pistol. I flattened them with pliers. And inserted it into the cylinder, after filling it with hot glue. While the glue was still hot in the cylinder, I put it on the motor axle. The glue has cooled down. First test. It seemed to me that the load was small, since the vibration was quite high-frequency. Well, this is understandable, for lower frequency Vibration you need to either move the load further from the axis, or add the weight of the load. Which is what I did.I screwed a screw into the cylinder. After which the vibration became very strong and little noisy. This is what it looks like.

Closed the mouse. I tried pressing the button a couple of times. There was no joy when it started to vibrate. Because the result exceeded all expectations. The vibration is so strong that it is difficult to hold the mouse in your hands. I started the game, Far Cry. I tried to shoot with the M-16. During shooting, the mouse shook so much that it was impossible to shoot accurately. But it was more realistic to play this way. Moreover, I played better than my friend and we just lacked equal strength in the game. After I started shooting less accurately, the game continued to be much more interesting.

Conclusion

From a simple mouse I made a vibrating mouse, which has no analogues in the world. I proved to my friend that I won’t burn my computer. Scared my mother to death. When she sat down at my computer without me and made the first click, she was in shock. She doesn’t sit down at the computer without me anymore. It has become more interesting to play Far Cry, because having good experience and accuracy, playing is already boring. I brought a little variety and creativity into my life.

um... here's a question: I did everything as the author wrote, checked it on the LED and soldered everything clearly, but the motor does not buzz, I took the motor from my mobile phone. Anyone who knows a solution to the problem please post*

It will be so, because there is not enough food! Some craftsmen use a large 3-volt battery, like R22, to power the motor, its power lasts for almost a year!
